The Bank Account is the 19th episode in the series.

Plot synopsis[]

The boys have earned some money, and they promise to make their deposits to the school account, as Ward has mentioned that he has things he wants to buy for himself, like a new hunting jacket, but prefers to save his money for more worthwhile things. The boys later notice his old hunting jacket, and instead opt to use some of their money to buy Ward a new hunting jacket. They sneak out of school and see an expensive but decent one at Abernathy Potts, a fancy sporting goods store. However, it costs more than they have, so they opt to make withdrawals from their account to cover the full cost.

Mrs. Rayburn informs Ward that the boys left school, and made withdrawals from their accounts, rather than a deposit, and Ward is fuming. He assumes the boys spent the money on fancy baseball equipment, which is seemingly confirmed when a package from Abernathy Potts, arrives at the Cleaver household. Ward opts to have a family meeting about the matter, where they will examine the boys' purchase and decide if it was a worthwhile one, and if they altogether decide otherwise, it will be returned for a refund. He is surprised and touched to see the purchase was a new hunting jacket! So much so that he wears it for the rest of the evening.
