Beaver, the Model is the 112th episode in the series.

Plot synopsis[]

Beaver submits a picture of himself to a modeling agency's ad in a magazine and receives a letter stating that he is a top prospect in the modeling field. Ward and Wally tell Beaver the ad's just a gyp and that he shouldn't get himself involved further in it. but Eddie claims Ward said those things out of jealousy and that others, like Sal Mineo, got their start that way.

Beaver does get further involved with the agency, and he finds himself in a spot when they request a $30.00 fee to start him off. When Beaver can't pay it off, they send him letters threatening legal action, but Beaver is afraid to tell his father that he ignored his advice. He starts to ask Ward and June about debts, and they tell of stories where whole families were imprisoned over them.

Beaver later finds himself going to his father's friend, George Compton, an attorney, for further assistance. Mr. Compton agrees to handle the matter, but not without lecturing Beaver on the foolishness of not going to his parents with the issue beforehand, and also not without accepting Beaver's savings of $0.46 as a fee for taking the case to teach him a lesson.

Ward and June later learn about the whole ordeal but decide no further action is necessary on their end, as Mr. Compton's lecture taught Beaver his lesson. Ward remarks how a parent can lecture their child until they're blue in the face, and it means little, but when someone else lectures them, it actually sinks in. Meanwhile. Beaver tells Wally he can't wait until he's old enough to stop messing things up, but Wally tells him that will never happen. Mayfield has three whole buildings full of lawyers, for a reason.
